      All information on the application form and any attachments are subject to verification by the Human Resources Department. If an applicant is recommended for hire, the following checks will be made: work references and a criminal history check. After a conditional offer of employment is made, a pre-employment physical and a drug test will be required for all positions. After hire an evaluation of the applicant’s driver’s license record is conducted. Applicants refusing to cooperate, failing to show up for scheduled appointments and/or failing to successfully pass required tests will be disqualified from consideration for employment with the City of Cleveland.

      PATROL OFFICER APPLICANTS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A TCOLE OR BE CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN POLICE ACADEMY. APPLICATIONS FOR PATROL OFFICER WILL NOT BE FORWARDED IF AN APPLICANT HAS NOT ALREADY OBTAINED THEIR TCOLE OR ARE NOT CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN POLICE ACADEMY.
