When an emergency situation arises, time is of the essence. In order to keep you, your family and/or your business, employees and patrons safe remember the best tool for finding your location is to have your home or business correctly identified by numbering the front of the structure with your address.
Ordinance No. 920, that was enacted by the Cleveland City Council on April 13, 2010 and added to the Code of Ordinances, Section 62-111 Premises Identification, states “Buildings shall have approved address numbers placed in a position to be plainly legible and visible from the street or road fronting the property. These numbers shall contrast with their background. Address numbers or alphabet letters shall be a minimum of four inches (102 mm) high with a minimum stroke width of one-half inch (12.7 mm).”
When in need of law enforcement officials, fire department officials or emergency medical services, having your structure correctly identified helps emergency personnel to identify where you are and get you the help you need.
