1. When must I appear before the court?

If you are age 17 and over, on, or before your court date which is written on your citation. Anyone under the age of 17 (juveniles), must appear on the court date written on the citation and with a parent or guardian.

2. How can I pay my ticket?

Plea No Contest or Guilty and pay the fine using one of the following method:

• By mail with a money order or cashier’s check. We do not accept personal checks.
• By phone with a debit or credit card. You will pay an additional $3 to $5 fee for processing.
• In person along with the above payment methods.

3. How do I request defensive driving?

Appear in person on or before your court date. The eligibility requirements are as follows:

• You must not be in the process of taking defensive driving.
• You must not have taken defensive driving within the past year.
• Provide the court with your driver’s license and insurance and pay (up front) $107 court costs.
• You will be allowed 90 days to complete the Defensive Driving.

If you fail to complete your defensive driving in the time allowed, you must pay the remainder of your citation.

4. How do I request deferred disposition?

Deferred disposition is a form of probation. The judge must approve your request. Appear in person on or before your court date. Plead guilty or no contest and pay the full amount of the citation (up front). The probation period can be from 90 to 180 days. After completion of your deferred disposition, your case will be dismissed and not reported as a conviction on your driving record. If you fail to successfully complete your deferred disposition, it will be reported as a conviction on your driving record.

Deferred disposition is not an option for the following offenses:

• Citations over 20 miles per hour in a school zone
• Citations for defendants that hold a CDL license at the time of the offense
• Citations for offenses committed in a construction zone with workers present
• Citations for over 25 miles per hour in a regular zone
