Bulk Trash Collection

Waste Management will collect bulky items on the last Thursday of the month. No additional charge. Bulky Waste is material too large for the trash cart. Please place your bulky items 5 feet from your cart on collection day. A separate truck will come by and remove the material.

CNG Trucks

One of Waste Management’s long term sustainability goals is to reduce fleet emissions by 15 percent by the year 2020. One of the primary strategies for reducing emissions is to transition our fleet of collection vehicles to cleaner-burning compressed natural

gas (CNG). As of 2015, the company has more than 5,000 CNG trucks on the road and has reduced on-road emissions by 24 percent.

Compressed natural gas (CNG) is one of the cleanest fuels currently available for use in heavy-duty trucks. Its use in these trucks significantly reduces a number of emissions:

• 94 percent reduction in particulate matter

• 75 percent reduction in carbon monoxide

• Up to 49 percent reduction in nitrogen oxides

• And 25 percent reduction in carbon dioxide

Trucks powered by CNG are also more quiet than their diesel-powered counterparts, a considerable benefits to the residential neighborhoods where our collection vehicles operate.

Carts

Each resident will receive one 96-gallon cart for items considered trash. The larger trash carts can hold up to 200 pounds, enabling residents of Cleveland to keep their streets and neighborhoods clean.

Cart Placement Instructions

Please place your cart at the point of collection as early as 7PM on Wednesday or no later than 7AM on Thursday. All carts should be removed from the point of collection no later than 10PM on the day of your collection. Please place cart at least five (5) feet away from vehicles, the lid must be completely closed. Blocked carts will not be recovered until the next service day.
