Functions

Maintain approximately 52 miles of city streets. This mainly consists of pothole repairs and choosing which streets to be paved.
Maintain approximately 56 miles of drainage ditches.
Repair and replace street signs.
Striping of parking lots at city buildings and downtown parking areas.
Mowing several areas of town including tax properties and several miles of ditches in front of vacant lots.
Picking up brush and limbs for registered seniors at no cost to them.
Inspecting culvert installations.

This department has four employees and is integrated with the Parks Department under one supervisor.
