The Rural Workforce Academy - Welding Class

On Tuesday November 10, 2020. City Council and City Staff stopped by the welding class being held at the Cleveland Civic Center. This class is part of Prairie View A&M Rural Workforce Academy.

PVAMU's Cooperative Extension Program will provide skilled trades training certification and job placement to rural counties impacted by disasters. The certifications offered will provide value-added impact, addressing the much needed rebuilding and recovery efforts in rural Texas. Program participants will choose one of four concentration areas of training: Welding, Core Construction, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Electrical Technician. Training sessions will be in Liberty, TX and Cleveland, TX in Liberty County and will also take place in Prairie View, TX and Hempstead, TX in Waller County.
