Houston Galveston Area Council has partnered with Connected Nation Texas in order to study the needs of broadband in Liberty County. We are entering an exciting time for Liberty County with the extensive growth, not only with residential developments, but with commercial and industrial growth that will bring much needed jobs to our communities in Liberty County.
The Liberty County Broadband Committee is comprised of local community leaders from various sectors with a common mission of enhancing and expanding broadband access, adoption and use throughout the county for the benefit of local residents and businesses. To that end, the Committee has partnered with Connected Nation Texas and their "Connected Community" program to assess the present state of broadband in Liberty County and establish a broadband planning process and plan to address Liberty County’s current and future broadband needs.
Click here for an informational flyer that addresses the who, what, when and how of the Liberty County Broadband Initiative. They have provided a link to the survey that will support the efforts of the study in developing an accurate assessment of broadband availability and needs in Liberty County. https://www.myconnectedcommunity.org/liberty-county/ Please take the time to go to this site and complete the survey. Please share this information with your peers and encourage them to take the survey as well, as everyone in Liberty County will benefits - homes, businesses, schools, churches, healthcare and government. Should you or someon you know have a home and business in Liberty County they will need to fill out the survey for each affiliated need.
Information from the study should be available in May/June 2020. From that grant funding will be accessible for possible infrastructure updates for the needed broadband services across the county.
